Examination of strategy report connected to class perception - Essay Example They have diagrams commonly found in any pre-school study hall, despite the fact that the titles have French interpretations. In contrast to conventional study halls, youngsters were not given seats and work areas, rather they sit on the floor without any regalia; the seats and work areas, be that as it may, are promptly accessible on the off chance that they need those. The talk and movement making are the most fascinating parts. The instructor as often as possible trains the youngsters both in English and French, in spite of the fact that she utilizes the last more often than not. Youngsters as youthful as 5 years of age would already be able to collaborate with their cohorts with fundamental French words, for example, ââ¬Å"comment allez-vous?â⬠to mean ââ¬Å"how are you?â⬠The exercise for that day was things. The instructor had an enormous outline brimming with huge pictures of creatures, places, festivities, and so forth. Each image is named with its English and French names. During the conversation, the kids were so intelligent and I can't help suspecting that the educator knows her understudies well indeed and realizes how to deal with

How can one truly define love :: essays papers
By what means can one genuinely characterize love Love is a superb thing; a savvy man once said that to me. In spite of the fact that this announcement leaves scanty space for contention, it does little to characterize what love is past the obscure domain of great. It is my obligation as a stanch sentimental to leave upon the apparently dubious errand of characterizing love by taking a gander at the history, clarifying what love isn't, and insightful the employments of affection and the consequences of which it brings. The inception of the word is presumably the most justifiable spot to begin. Similarly as with numerous words in the English language, love is a subordinate of the Latin word notquitesurewhatimdoing which signifies You think you need it when donââ¬â¢t have it, however when you have it your not certain on the off chance that you need it. The word was made to clarify the marvel that existed when certain couples came into contact with one another and either remained together everlastingly all through the finish of time , or approached their lives miles separated down independent streets of movement. Notwithstanding the result, the relationship was normally ascribed of throat bumps, tied stomachs, powerless knees, discourse hindrance, sweat-soaked palms, queasiness, sniffling, and intermittent runny nose. Pugnacious madness likewise came about. History unmistakably characterizes this. Could we ever overlook the face that propelled a thousand boats? Governmentally communicating Van Gough's ear; Eric Clapton taking endlessly George Harrisonââ¬â¢s first spouse? When Ronnie left Jessie for Susie, at that point discovered that Jessie had just left Ronnie for Karen, on ââ¬Å" Days of our Livesâ⬠. These were aftereffects of adoration and love lost. Disastrous sweethearts have expressed that affection isn't hand nor foot nor any part having a place with a man. Marital services additionally guarantee that adoration isn't desirous or bombastic. Leave it alone expressed hear that adoration additionally isn't a gourmet dish, a tamed creature, or a most recent pattern. Love is neither a planned security instrument nor the most concealed mystery at the Pentagon. Love isn't another flavoring to container and stick on the residue lined racks of the zest rack. Love isn't to be mistaken for sticky tape. Rather, love is an extraordinary supplement to late, evening tempests on warm June evenings. Love works out in a good way for chicken soup and the sneezes. Love is chilly, wet sand between uncovered toes.

Alternative Medicine Into American Culture Essay - 1245 Words
ââ¬Å"The Alternative Medicine Racketâ⬠talks about how a few people tried to introduce alternative medicine into American Culture. The National Institute of Health took supposed ââ¬Å"mysticalâ⬠therapy from what they called fraud sources, and implanted them directly into the heart of the medical establishment. In 1984, the government released a report on fraudulent medicine in America and concluded that billions of American taxpayer money was being swindled by untested herbs and energy therapies that filled the aisle of stores and pages of magazines. These were aimed towards a vulnerable population: the elderly, desperate, and terminally ill. Fifty experts called for a crackdown (or should I say ââ¬Å"quackdownâ⬠) on the alternative therapies (that weââ¬â¢ll refer to as ââ¬Å"quackeryâ⬠). In the late 1980ââ¬â¢s, a senator named Tom Harkin was positive that bee pollen had cured his hay fever and wondered ââ¬Å"Why isnââ¬â¢t anyone funding this?â⬠, leading him to establish the Office of Alternative Medicine. Dr. Jacobs was appointed as director of the office, and what seemed like a promising future for alternative medicine would be destroyed by the council which had another set of priorities. After only two years, Jacobs resigned. Now free, the council could present their own view of alternative medicine. Harkin would then turn the Office of Alternative Medicine into a ââ¬Å"national centerâ⬠, thus giving it its own growing budget. The budget would increase exponentially and with the promise of this funding, some of theShow MoreRelatedAlternative Medicine : Medicine And Medicine1442 Words à |à 6 PagesAlternative Medicine Throughout the centuries alternative medicine has been effective in curing many diseases and to also aid the healing process of the body. Sample details Pages: 6 Words: 1887 Downloads: 9 Date added: 2019/04/15 Category History Essay Level High school Tags: Christopher Columbus Essay Did you like this example? Christopher Columbus was a Italian explorer. He was born between August 26 and October 31. He was born in Genoa, Italy and was known for his exploring across the Atlantic. People also believe that he is the first person to find the Americas. Throughout his whole life, he took 4 big voyages and a lot more that were smaller and not as important. He was determined to find a direct water path from Europe to Asia. He didnt achieve that goal but this is when people believe he stumbled across the Americas. Christopher Columbus started his exploring at an early age. He was the son of a wool merchant. When he was just a teenager, he got a job on a merchant ship. He was sailing until 1470, when French privateers attacked his ship and continued north along the Portuguese coast. The boat sank but Christopher got back to shore on a small plank of wood. This is where he began studying and finding out what he would do for his future. He was in Lisbon, and this is when he began studying mathematics, astronomy, cartography and navigation. This is where he would meet his wife and have his kids. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Christopher Columbus: A Hero Or A Villain" essay for you Create order While Columbus was in Lisbon he met his wife, Filipa Moniz Perestrelo. She was a Portuguese noblewomen from Porto Santo Island, in Madeira Portugal. The two of them got married in 1479 and they would soon have a kid. Diego Columbus was their child and he was a navigator just like his father. Again just like his father, he was very successful in life as he was the 2nd Admiral of the Indies, 2nd Viceroy of the Indies and 4th Governor of the Indies as a vassal to the Kings of Castile and Aragon. At the end of the 15th century, it was very near impossible to reach Asia from Europe by land. If you tried to take this trip, you would encounter a lot of hostile armies that were hard to get around. The Portuguese explorers found that it would be quite easy to do this by sailing. They sailed along the West African coast and around the Cape of Good Hope. Columbus didnt agree with this. He felt like it would be easier to sail down across the Atlantic instead of going around the African contine nt. His thought was very logical but his math was off by a lot. He thought that the earths circumference was much smaller than what it actually was. He not only thought that this trip would be possible but ratherly quite easy. He showed his plan to the Portugal and English officials and it wasnt until 1491 when he finally got an audience and recognition. Columbus wanted to be famous for the thing he loved and he wanted to get rich while doing it. He wanted to spread Catholicism around the world. Columbus had a contract with the Spanish officials and it was promising that he could keep ten percent of whatever he found. Also gets noble titles and governorship of any land he encounters. On August 3, 1492, him and his crew set sail in three ships; the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria and on October 12, they made it to land. He wasnt on Asia as he assumed but he was on one of the Bahamian Islands. For months, he sailed from island to island looking for things that were worth good money. He promised the Spanish patrons that he would return with something worth value. He didnt find much. In March of 1493, he left behind 40 of his men behind in a makeshift settlement in Hispaniola which is present day Haiti and the Dominican Republic. After waiting only a few months, Columbus took sail for the second time. He went and explored most of the Caribbean Islands. When he arrived at Hispaniola, him and his crew discovered that the Navidad settlement was destroyed and with all of his sailors killed. The queen didnt like idea of slavery but Columbus found a way around it and made a forced labor policy to help rebuild the settlement and help find golds and other things worth money. The labor only led him to find a small amount of gold and only make things worse between him and the native population. Before going back to Spain, Columbus left his two brothers behind, Diego and Bartholomew, to govern and watch over Hispaniola. As he was sailing back to Asia, he went around the Caribbean Islands and this made him think that he had went around the outer islands of China. In his third voyage, he finally reached the mainland of South America. He explored the Orinoco River which is in present day Venezuela. The conditions in Hispaniola were becoming really bad to the point near mutiny. Settlers claiming that they have been misled by Columbus claims and riches and complaining about the poor management of his brothers. A Spanish Crown sent a officer to go and arrest Columbus. The officer stripped him of his authority. Columbus returned to Spain in chains to face royal court. Later his charges were dropped but he lost his ability to govern the Indies and most of the money he earned during his voyages. On his fourth and final voyage Columbus convinced King Ferdinand to let him take this voyage and promised that he would return with a lot of riches. This all took place in 1502. He travelled across the eastern coast of Central America in an unsuccessful search for the Indian Ocean. A storm wrecked one of his ships leaving the captain and the sailors stranded in Cuba. During this time, the local islanders were tired of Spaniards, poor treatment, and the obsession for gold, they refused to give the captain and his crew food. Columbus then got an idea, he was going to design a punishment for the islanders. He was planning to take away the moon from them. On February 29, 1504, a lunar eclipse alarmed the islanders enough to re-establish trade with the Spaniards. A rescue party finally arrived, sent by the royal governor of Hispaniola in July, and Columbus and his crew returned to Spain in November of 1504. A quick recap on all of Christophers voyages, there were a lot of events that happened that made his future turn out the way it did. During his first voyage he went down into the Atlantic instead of going around the African continent. If he wouldve went around Africa then there was a small chance that he would have been caught and couldve lost his life early. On his second voyage, when he discovered that Hispaniola was destroyed; if he never got the labor policy up and running then he couldve lost profit and maybe get in trouble by the queen for leaving the place a mess. In his third voyage he had a chance of getting killed by the people in South America. This wouldve ended his legacy early and he probably wouldnt be as popular has he is now. And in his final voyage, when the islanders refused to give him and his crew food couldve ended his life early as well. So after all of his voyages he made it out alive but if it wasnt for some of the events that took place, his life and legacy couldve been a lot different. Columbus had a crazy life leaving him with a more crazy legacy. He is credited for finding the Americas and showing them to the European people. He was sadly credited with destroying the native people when he explored their islands. To complete the sum up, he actually never met his goal of finding a ocean route to Asia and coming back with riches. Known as the Columbian Exchange, during all of his voyages, he spread a lot of his people, plants, animals, and diseases that affect the world that we live in now. Columbus brought over horses, which had a huge affect on the Native Americans. This allowed the tribes that were living in the Great Plains of North America to shift from a moving nomadic lifestyle to a staying still hunting style. Wheat from the Old World got moved to North America and would soon become one of their biggest food sources. There were a lot more things following the Columbian Exchange. Fast forward to May of 2014, Columbus made the news again. A group of archeologists claimed they found the Santa Maria off the coast of Haiti. The leader of the group told the head of the newspaper all geographical, underwater topography archaeological evidence strongly suggest this wreck is Columbus famous flagship, the Santa Maria(Clifford). After further investigation, the U.N. agency UNESCO, it was determined to be too far off the coast to be the Santa Maria. Now time to discuss if Columbus was a hero or a villain. There are many key points for each side. I will discuss the things that made him a hero rather than a villain. He brought things around the world that wouldnt have ever been possible to get if he didnt do this. He gave the Natives many things; he gave them their transportation, food, and shelter when he had them doing labor work. Columbus also found many different places for the Europeans to expand to. He opened up a whole new door of possibilities. He discovered parts of South America, some of the Caribbean Islands, more places in Europe and Africa. This allowed people of his kind to expand out for their life and live in different areas. He was a great father and trained his son to be exactly like him, which is a leader. Some people say his son almost had as great as a legacy as his father did. Now for the things that made him a villain. Columbus was known for doing things that he had to do to get what he wanted. Columbus killed a lot of the Native Americans and took their land. While he was doing all of that, he even made them his slaves to help him succeed in his life. If it wasnt for the Native Americans, he wouldnt have ever had as much riches as he did. Hispaniola would have stayed a mess and he wouldve got in trouble for that. Columbus was known for rapping women and beating them. He did all of this to his wife. People believe we are celebrating Columbus day because he found the Americas. But did he really? We are supporting a villain, a rapist, a perpetrator of genocide, and a murderer of millions. Now I will state my opinion on if I think he was a hero or a villain. In my eyes I see Christopher Columbus as a hero. My back up on this would be that he did more good things than bad. Columbus did what he had to do to achieve his dream. Even though he never actually found a sea route from Europe to Asia he still found more places for people to expand and start new life there. Without Columbus there could have been places that we still never knew about. He influenced many other people to follow his path and become an explorer. He trained his son to be a hero to many. At the end of it all, he was a hero too.

Nostradamus Essays - Apocalypticists, Divination, Nostradamus
Nostradamus For four centuries Nostradamus's prophecies have inspired fear and controversy. His followers say he predicted the French Revolution, the birth and rise of Hitler, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Did he, as his believers claim, predict some of history's most monumental events - from the Great Fire of London to the launch disaster of the space shuttle Challenger? Nostradamus was typical of the Renaissance time period. He made many prophecies and was a major contributor to not only the Renaissance but the 'Spirit of the Renaissance'. Michel de Nostrodame (or his more used Latin name of Nostradamus) was born a Jew in the small town of St.Remy de Province in southern France on the 14th of December 1503. Little is known about Nostradamus's family apart from Jean his youngest brother became Procurer of the Parliament of Province. As a small boy Nostradamus underwent significant changes in his life. While Nostradamus was a child his family was forced to convert to Roman Catholicism. Around this time he was sent to live with his grandfather who taught him the basics of Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Mathematics and Astrology. A few years later Nostradamus's grandfather died and he went to Avignon to finish his schooling. Whilst at Avignon he also believed as did Galileo that the Earth was round and circled the sun. Nostradamus used his ability to help people through harsh times and did not even fear for his own life. In 1525 he received his Bachelor's degree for Medicine and went to help the fight against the 'Black Death' that was feared throughout the Renaissance period. After traveling for almost four years helping the sufferers of the Plague, he returned to Avignon and won fame for his eagerness for learning which ties in with the spirit of the Renaissance. In 1532 he earned his Doctorate and became a Professor at the Montipellier University but resigned within the same year. He then moved to Agen, married and had a son and daughter. His life now seemed complete until an outbreak of the Plague in Agen that killed his wife and children. In 1538, he was accused of heresy because of a remark about a statue of the Virgin Mary being like a devil that he had made years before. The Inquisitors sent him to Toulouse to stand trial. Leoni, Edgar stated that in 1554 Nostradamus settled in Marseilles after wandering for six years keeping well clear of the church authorities. During these time legends started to appear about his foreseeing powers. It was not until later however that he received his fame with his prophetic visions of the future - 942 cryptic poems called The Centuries - that have preoccupied generation after generation of readers. The Centauries (ten in total) were written in poem like form and contained hard-to-break codes that were use to stop attention being drawn to him self as the church authorities could not arrest him for writing in gibberish, because in that time prophecies were considered as witch craft or devil work. The Centauries were written by night as not to be seen in 1555. He eventually settled down in the town of Salon, France in 1554 where he Married his second wife, Anne Ponsart Gemelle, with whom he rose six Children - three boys and three girls. Do these writings actually predict the death of popes, rise of tyrants, and natural disasters to come? The code in which the prophecies were written could be comprehended to mean many things, but if the people who claim to be able to crack the code of Nostradamus' work are right then World War Three will reach its climax in the year 1999. Bio-warfare will be used - which will virtually wipe out most of humanity with minimal survivors with the human race living until the year 3797. Nostradamus travelled to Paris and booked in at a hotel on the 15th of August 1556 and the queen at the time sent a message to Nostradamus asking him to see her. The queen talked to Nostradamus privately for two hours, nothing is know about what they talked about. Two weeks later Nostradamus was again summoned to speak with the queen. This time she asked him to give horoscopes on all her children - all turned out correct except one horoscope, her youngest child who died before taking the throne. In 1564 Nostradamus was appointed Royal Physician to King Charles IX. On the 1st of July 1566 he sent for the local priest to give him this message, "I

Green tea essays
Green tea essays Although nowadays Japan is highly developed in technicals, the traditions are still important in Japanese peoples life and still have their importance in spite of modernization. Geishas are connected to the old traditions, the words meaning is Beauty person. Gei means arts and performance, and Sha means people. They are like hostesses, but they are not prostitutes. It is a century old profession, which became only in the 18th century a female profession, before that geishas were only men. Their job is to skillfully entertain in high classes, so they need to be trained in many traditional Japanese arts. They start their training while they are teenagers (when they are 17 years old), and they get to the maiko houses. Here they learn about arts, calligraphy, ancient dance, singing, playing instruments and Sado (tea ceremony) poetry. And also they are taught flower arrangment, wearing kimono, conversation and alcohol serving. These women are talented, but even after becoming a geisha, they take lessons to improve their skills. Geishas dress in kimonos and wear a wall-white makeup, where their lips are painted red (for younger geishas just the upper lip). Their hair is up in coiffuries. Even their hands are painted white. In the Tea houses there is a hierarhic relationship, just like in families. At the top is the mother and each geisha has a senior elder sister, who helps her carrying on her training. Geishas are in a district called hanamachi. They used to entertain visitors in o-chaya which is a kind of teahouse, but its purpose is morelike holding banquettes and dinners there. O-chayas are Japanese-type houses built from wood. There live also the maikos (they are the young geishas). Nowadays geishas number is expanding (it is less than a thousand) and they can found mostly in Kyoto and Osaka. An old traditional clothing in Japan is the Kimono, but through h ...

Smith & Ricardo vs. Malthus, Bentham, Senior, J.S. Mill and Say Essay
Smith & Ricardo vs. Malthus, Bentham, Senior, J.S. Mill and Say - Essay Example It leads to increased productivity and consequently greater output, high wages and income per capita thus opulence of nations (Ekelund & Hebert 129). Natural harmony exists in economy due to the mechanism of the ââ¬Ëinvisible handââ¬â¢ which drives individualsââ¬â¢ self-interests to promote greater good hence there is no need for government intervention. Competition in the market is vital and money is just for making trade more flexible. David Ricardo (1772-1823) in his Principles of political economy and taxation (1817) was concerned with distribution of wealth within Smithââ¬â¢s analytical framework. Like Smith he advocated for competition without restraint. He also acknowledged existence of use value and exchange value but concentrated on the natural exchange value which is determined by scarcity and labor cost of production (Bhatia, 116). Since rent is not part of the cost (its value in excess of real production) and capital is past labor, this leaves labor cost to determine relative value of commodities (Ekelund & Hebert 156). However, different types of labor are adjusted in market by relative rates of rewards and wages gravitate towards subsistence. If more than subsistence then population (labor supply) increases depressing wages and vice versa (p. 120). Thomas Robert Malthus (1766-1834) focus was on population. Unlike Ricardo, he saw an imbalance between population and means of subsistence hence ineffective demand. For Malthus population increased in geometrical progression while means of subsistence increased in arithmetic progression hence population was bound to outstrip supply of means of subsistence if not checked (Bhatia 135). Population growth thus needed to be checked through preventive and positive checks such as delayed marriage, celibacy, moral restraint, floods, droughts, famine, disease and war. For Smith and Ricardo, demand for labor determined rate of population increase and was always kept

Subordinate work Essay Example for Free
Subordinate work Essay This has actually been socially recognized as a global repetition of proposals that later on endorsed the promotion of Canadian women in leadership to better disseminate the importance of their gender role in an ethnic and culturally diverse society. Canada has therefore recognized the efforts of women in a new economy build up of a diverse talent pool that sees accomplishments across presentations at public forums and media communications. Further, in the educational fields, despite being less motivated in studies relative to male-dominated professions like natural sciences, engineering and mathematics, the women folk continue to slowly dominate a smattering of educational endeavors which in the previous years were considered male dominated. The benefits attached to these fields are slowly embraced to leverage with respect for the gender differences among employees. We have seen the efforts of Canadian women who take tremendous strides in their educational attainment and become members of the legitimate professional workforce. Although a majority of around 70% according to the Status of Women (2000) is still in occupations such as teaching, nursing and related health occupations, their representation have slowly increased in professional administrative and managerial positions. Adams has endorsed the full professional recognition and legislation that completely overhaul the history of labeling womenââ¬â¢s professions as subordinate work. Further, the recognition of women in various fields of science acknowledges Canadian womenââ¬â¢s interest to work in the community for economic development. Through development organizations that have mushroomed around in Canada, women are given the opportunity to learn new skills and share their experience with others in an effort to uplift their femininity and promote a social and economic change for the female gender. With a commitment aimed at an economic independence the Canadian Womenââ¬â¢s Foundation work in an effort to promote equality and eliminate poverty among women. A Transient Citizen Essay -- American Citizenship Immigration Essays
A Transient Citizen "...1 hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince or state of whom or which I have been a subject or citizen...." This is a clause from an oath I took on February 6, 2002ââ¬âan ordinary day of no significance to most people, a climatic point in my lifeââ¬âit was the day I became a U.S. citizen. I did not attend the formal ceremony in the Los Angeles Convention Center, yet for me it did not matter; I was still just as excited, for this was the day I became a true American. There were many people from different cultures in the noisy office where I received my certificate, yet we were all filled with the same excitementââ¬âthe potential of the American Dream and to be part of the greatest nation. It seemed that every time an employee came out they called someone else, as if I was not even there, and I started to worry. The fear of returning home without being a citizen of this nation started to cross my mind. Two hours passed and I was sitting in the same chair listening to the noise of the typewriters inside the offices. Then, as if time itself had stopped, it happened; they called me to the front window. It was as if I as walking to the doors of heaven. I recognized that it was not the end but rather a new beginning. It was the creation of a new person. The oath was simple; I had promised to support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies. I choked on the very words when I realized I had just taken an oath promising to bear arms even against the country of my birth. For so long I envisioned perfection as the day I would become a citizen of a country that I had learned to love. I realized ... ...goals aimed at success, having a stable job or owning a house, but it is now a long-term goal that seeks to find a stable point between two nations even if the nations themselves are not at peace. Now that I have gone through the process of applying for United States citizenship, I have taken the responsibility to choose between Mexico and The United Statesââ¬âbetween my roots and my future. I have taken an oath, not only before The Great American seal, but also and most importantly before God. I do not wish to question whether I regret becoming a citizen or not, for the only obstacle that is always holding us back is not being able to let go of the past. However, I cannot completely erase what I feel for Mexico, for I do not want to forget my heritage, mi cultura. I may be bound to the American flag and the U.S. Constitution, but I am still proud of being Mexican.

The macroenvironment includes larger forces that affect the whole internal environment. Those are beyond the control of a single company and thus they shape the opportunities and threats for the business ââ¬â demographic, political, economic, cultural, societal, technological.STP ANALYSIS The strategic marketing planning process flows from a mission and vision statement to the selection of target markets, and the formulation of specific marketing mix and positioning objective for each product or service the organization will offer. The marketing logic followed should present the organization as a value creation and delivery sequence, resulting in profitable customer relationship. In its fir st phase, choosing the value, the strategist ââ¬Å"proceeds to segment the market, select the appropriate market target, and develop the offer's value positioning. The formula ââ¬â segmentation, targeting, positioning (STP) -is the essence of strategic marketing. â⬠(Kotler, 1994, p. 93). SEGMENTATION Market segmentation consists of the partition of the market to distinct groups with different needs and wants with the purpose of selecting one or more market segments which the organization can target through the development of specific marketing mixes that adapt to particular market needs. TARGETING From the determined market segments a company chooses a target market ââ¬â group of customers that the business has decided to aim its marketing efforts at.It is the one for which the firm could create maximum customer value. POSITIONING Positioning of the product is determining the place it takes in consumers` minds. Efforts are put to differentiate the product from competit ors` products, so that it could be accepted as unique. 4 MARKETING MIX Thus the overall marketing strategy is outlined. Use SWOT analysis for business planning, strategic planning, competitor evaluation, marketing, business and product development and research SOCIAL MEDIA Social media are forms of electronic communication (as Web sites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content.Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein define social media as ââ¬Å"a group of Internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2. 0, and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content. Furthermore, social media depend on mobile and web-based technologies to create highly interactive platforms through which individuals and communities share, co-create , discuss, and modify user-generated content. It introduces substantial and pervasive changes to communication between organizations, communities and individual.Classification By applying a set of theories in the field of media research (social presence, media richness) and social processes (self-presentation, self-disclosure) Kaplan and Haenlein created a classification scheme in their Business Horizons (2010) article, with six different types of social media: 5 ? ? ? ? ? ? collaborative projects (for example, Wikipedia), blogs and microblogs (for example, Twitter), content communities (for example, YouTube and DailyMotion), social networking sites (for example, Facebook), virtual game worlds (e. g. , World of Warcraft), and virtual social worlds (e. g. Second Life)Technologies include: blogs, picture-sharing, vlogs, wall-postings, email, instant messaging, music-sharing, crowdsourcing and voice over IP,to name a few. Social media in business There is an increasing trend towards using social media monitoring tools that allow marketers to search, track and analyse conversation on the web about their brand or about topics of interest. This can be useful in business management and campaign tracking, allowing the user to measure return on investment, competitor-auditing and general public engagement. There are valuable types of information that show the engagement needs of the social media audience. For instance, LinkedIn users are thought to care mostly about identity, reputation and relationships, whereas YouTubeââ¬â¢s primary features are sharing, conversations, groups and reputation. Many companies build their own social containers that attempt to collect more concrete information for their brands. On the other hand social media containers such as Google+ or Facebook and also Twitter could provide a business with unbiased, realistic, honest opinions and attitudes, as they are not specially stated for marketing purposes, but for friends or just self-expression.Company faces significant challenges in dealing with viral negative s entiment directed at organizations or individuals on social media platforms, which may be a reaction to an announcement or event. [15] SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING Social media marketing refers to the process of gaining website traffic or attention through social media sites. Social media marketing programs usually center on efforts to create content that attracts attention and encourages readers to share it with their social networks.A corporate message spreads from user to user and presumably resonates because it appears to come from a trusted, third-party source, as opposed to the brand or company itself. Hence, this form of marketing is driven by word-of-mouth, meaning it results in earned media rather than paid media. Social media has become a platform that is easily accessible to anyone with internet access. Increased communication for organizations fosters brand awareness and often, improved customer service. Additionally, social media serves as a relatively inexpensive platform fo r organizations to implement marketing campaigns. Social networking websites allow individuals to interact with one another and build relationships. When products or companies join those sites, people can interact with the product or company. That interaction feels personal to users because of their previous experiences with social networking site interactions. Social networking sites and blogs allow individual followers to ââ¬Å"retweetâ⬠or ââ¬Å"repostâ⬠comments made by the product being promoted. By repeating the message, all of the users connections are able to see the message, therefore reaching more people.Social networking sites act as word of mouth. Because the information about the product is being put out there and is getting repeated, more traffic is brought to the product/company. Through social networking sites, products/companies can have conversations and interactions with individual followers. This personal interaction can instill a feeling of loyalty i nto followers and potential customers. Also, by choosing whom to follow on these sites, products can reach a very narrow target audience.Social networking sites also include a vast amount of information about what products and services prospective clients might be interested in ââ¬â marketers detect buying signals, such as content shared by people and questions posted online. Understanding of buying signals can help sales people target relevant prospects and marketers run micro-targeted campaigns. In the context of the social web, engagement means that customers and stakeholders are participants rather than viewers. Social media in business allows anyone and everyone to express and share an opinion or an idea somewhere along the businessââ¬â¢s path to market. Each participating customer becomes part of the marketing department, as other customers read their comments or reviews. The engagement process is then fundamental to successful social media marketing. NESCAFE HISTORY Nes cafe is a brand of instant coffee made by Nestle. It comes in many different product forms. The name is a portmanteau of the words ââ¬Å"Nestleâ⬠and ââ¬Å"cafeâ⬠. It was in 1930 that the Brazilian government first approached Nestle to find a way of making a quality cup of coffee simply by adding water, whilst retaining the coffeeââ¬â¢s natural flavour. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. It took seven years of research to perfect. Yes, seven years of blood, sweat and tears went into the first cup of NESCAFE (not literally though). And so, in the spring of 1938, NESCAFE was first launched in Switzerland. The rest of the orld soon followed. 7 Understandably, the Second World War hindered NESCAFEââ¬â¢s progress. But all was not lost. In fact, the American forces played a key role in re-launching NESCAFE in Europe when it was included in their food rations. By the 1950s, coffee had become cool. And everywhere you went you wanted to find your favorite blend. So, NESCAFE fans g rew in abundance.NESCAFE continued working to perfect great tasting coffee and in 1965, introduced the first freeze-dried soluble offering ââ¬â Gold Blend. And just a few years later, we invented a new technology to capture more aromas and flavors from every single coffee bean. Then in 1994, we created the ââ¬Ëfull aroma' process, making the unique quality and character of NESCAFE even more distinctive. Since then, NESCAFE has remained firmly at the forefront of sustainable coffee farming and product innovations worldwide. With the continual introduction of new blends, we aim to satisfy coffee lovers just like you.PORTFOLIO Nescafe`s products are divided into two main categories: Coffee Products and Coffee Machines. Each product is separately introduced by its own characteristics and each is distinguished by its purpose and most appropriate usage. Nescafe Classic ââ¬â Rich and full flavored. Nescafe 3in1 ââ¬â Sweet and Creamy. Nescafe Gold Blend ââ¬â Smooth taste, rich aroma. Nescafe Green Blend ââ¬â Roasted and unroasted coffee beans. Nescafe Cappuccino ââ¬â Light and frothy. The full list of products is different for the each of the countries, in which they are offered, as suggested by Nescafe`s main global strategy ââ¬â ââ¬Å"think globally, act locallyâ⬠.The Coffee Machines DOLCE GUSTO are new addition to the company`s portfolio. They have become popular and successful products ever since their introduction, mainly due to professional advertisement. 8 MISSION STATEMENT Nescafe is part of the giant Nestle, so it adopts the mission of the whole corporation, namely: ââ¬Å"Good Food, Good Lifeâ⬠However Nescafe products play vital role due to its high performance in finance. We call this ââ¬Å"Creating Shared Value. â⬠NESCAFE`S MARKETING Analysis Marketing Environment Microenvironment Nescafe helps and supports the agriculture/producers of coffee beans, thus creates close relationship with its suppliers. Uses various types of advertising, promotions, research tools, social media and websites to maintain relationship with its customers as well. One of the most successful are the games, which take place periodically all around the world. In order to please the public Nescafe encorporates a lot of social responsibility actions, environmental friendly practices and values highly the quality of its products. 9 There are also other brands that offer instant coffee, but at least in Europe Nescafe is far ahead its competitors. While in America it lags behind Maxwell House ââ¬â the instant coffee of Kraft Foods. Macroenvironment The macroenvironment of Nescafe can not be generally determined as it is different in the different countries. However Nescafe successfully copes with this situation adopting the flexible strategy ââ¬â ââ¬Å"think globally, act locallyâ⬠. STP ANALYSIS SEGMENTATION AND TARGET GROUPS Nescafe uses mainly age segmentation and targets mainly young people with very active lifestyle, who might need additional energy or who do not have time to prepare coffee. 1. Working Adults (Primary) 2. Students-University, Academy, High School (Secondary) 3. Senior Citizens (Third party) Geographical segmentation is also part of the Nescafe global strategy. They alter it according to geographical and cultural particularities of the region. Here are some other factors Nescafe uses to segment the market and target its customers more efficiently: Young adult cafe culture segment: They target this segment with their new latte range, along with the advertising, sales promotion and the competition to win the lounge seen in the advertisements. Upscale, quality driven, higher income consumers: Their Nescafe Gold range and exotic tastes such as Alta Rice are aimed towards such consumers, where the price and quality are higher than that of the general blends.Middle-class consumer (no age target): Nescafe targets such a large segment with their Blend 43, Mild Roast and Espresso products. The consumer gets an economical benefit , as well as a quality product. POSITIONING Most of the campaigns call on ââ¬Å"wake upâ⬠or ââ¬Å"wake up 5minutes earlierâ⬠, so it tries to occupy its customers` first thoughts in the morning. Another part of the campaign aiming at teenagers and the youth stresses on the ââ¬Å"coolâ⬠appearance with a cup of Nescafe (for example the ââ¬Å"unexpectedly good combination 3 in 1â⬠ad in Bulgaria). The brand also wants its customers to think of Nescafe whenever they feel tired or with lower level of energy, e. g. at the end of the work day or after sports activities. In all the presentations of the brand the cup of coffee is shared by colleagues, friend, couples, so that it could be accepted as symbol of shared happiness. A lot of efforts are put in order to be accepted as healthy products of high quality. 10 MARKETING MIX Product ââ¬â Nescafe is the worldââ¬Ës leading brand of coffee. Competition from beyond hot drinks 11 ADVERTISING Nescafe employs a ââ¬Å"think globally, act locallyâ⬠marketing strategy. According to Keegan and Green, ââ¬Å"Nescafe Coffee is marketed as a global brand, even though advertising messages and product formulation vary to suit cultural differencesâ⬠. Nescafeââ¬â¢s marketing campaign is global in the sense that the company uses the same symbols worldwide, such as the renowned coffee mug and Nescafe logo. However, Nescafe tailors its campaigns to suit diverse consumer attitudes and preferences. For example, marketing advertisements targeting different locations and regions often are different in terms of copy (messag e and language) and advertising appeal (rational vs. emotional). For the emotional appeals, Nescafe is trying to tug at the heartstrings of coffee drinkers. The emotional appeals are similar in that Nescafe wants to be a part of their consumerââ¬â¢s day. For the most part these advertisements do make sense when compared to the cultural factors of each specific country. In different countries the Company uses diverse methods for advertisement and appeal to customers. For example comparison between Germany, USA and Argentina was made according to which in Argentina the ad has an emotional appeal rather than rational; it seeks to associate drinking a Nescafe with having a pleasant day that coincides with your pleasurable coffee? drinking experience. As Germans place great emphasis on structure and routine, Nescafeââ¬â¢s placement of the product as being used during a specific moment during the day (the ââ¬Å"breakâ⬠) makes sense.Germans are typically busy people; therefore p ositioning the product as a respite from the hectic daily schedule is well done; even the simplicity of the ad adds to the feeling of tranquility and getting away from the rigors of every? day life. Nescafe is promoting the visual of the individual packet in order to appeal to the typical highly individualistic American, as in this package is made ââ¬Å"just for youâ⬠. Geared towards people that are on? the? go, the ad appeals to the American that is constantly moving and views time as indispensable and finite.Nescafe is trying to reverse the notion that ââ¬Å"you get what you pay forâ⬠by offering the same level of quality for a lower price. Despite these strategies implemented in different countries, there are some aspects that are not especially relevant and we have recommended some changes. Nescafe is seeking to convince consumers, especially young ones, to see instant coffee as a 100% natural product. To do this, Nestle shot the ad in Brazil ââ¬â the country tha t in 1930 challenged it to develop coffee that could be made by just adding water. Nescafe instant coffee was invented in 1938.According to the company, the plan is to ââ¬Å"reconnect consumers with the journey from the plant to jarâ⬠and focus on the origins of its coffee. When brands and their creative agencies agree, in full or in part, about the breadth of the cultural influence and the social value of music, they need to make a long-term commitment to developing a ââ¬Å"music strategyâ⬠. Nescafe is a great example for this, because most of their advertisements include music. In this way they connect on an emotional level ,which is central to consumer engagement and music offers a multitude of paths to accomplish this. 2 CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY The Nescafe Plan: Creating Shared Value ââ¬Å"Responsibility Goes Beyond the Cupâ⬠Paul Bulcke, Neslte CEO states the ambition: ââ¬Å"Nescafe gives its name to this global initiative, which creates value across the coffee supply chain, from farmers, to consumers, to us. â⬠Nescafe works hardly on its image ââ¬â a really responsible brand, caring of the future generations, believing in the benefits arising from sustainable development. It emphasizes on the Nescafe Plan, which is ââ¬Å"a global initiative that supports responsible farming, production and consumption. To win customers` and shareholders` loyalty the brand takes some actions: ? ? ? ? NESCAFE works with partners to support farmers NESCAFE is working to reduce its impact on the environment. NESCAFE promotes environmental responsibility, creates shared value for the people whose lives they influence NESCAFE makes it personal and acts as promoter of preserving the environment: ââ¬Å"how you can help to reduce your enviromental impact? â⬠In addition Nescafe pays much attention on valuable concepts as ââ¬Å"healthâ⬠and ââ¬Å"qualityâ⬠, instead of relying on lower prices. Thus it completes the position of the products as environmentally friendly produced, with high nutrition characteristics and suitable for healthy lifestyle. Moreover its customers believe that they contribute to huge, positive, social impact ââ¬â grounds for lasting, loyalty and close relationship. These guerrilla marketing ââ¬Å"live adsâ⬠would also be recorded and edited into YouTube videos, explaining the message of ââ¬Å"life without compromiseâ⬠and the connection to the convenience and great quality of NESCAFE products. The videos from all the ââ¬Å"live adsâ⬠would be uploaded to the NESCAFE YouTube channel called ââ¬Å"NESCAFE ââ¬â life without compromiseâ⬠.The YouTube channel would then be distributed and shared using soci al media, by NESCAFE and consumers. These videos will also be shared through NESCAFEââ¬â¢s Facebook page in order to leverage on the high volume of traffic it already experiences. You should keep in mind that Using YouTube as part of your businessââ¬â¢s social media marketing strategy can assist you in getting the type of visitors that you want. YouTube users are generally better leads because they have generally already seen a video you have posted, and wonââ¬â¢t click on your links unless they like what they see.In Youtube brands need to produce videos that offer true value to their intended audiences. This softer sell defines YouTubeââ¬â¢s role in your marketing strategy. This soft sell comes in the form of the information or instruction you provide. Perhaps thatââ¬â¢s a video newscast where you talk about industry news or technical developments; perhaps itââ¬â¢s a how-to video that shows people how to use your product to do something useful. In any case, viewer s watch the video because it provides valuable information; what they retain is a sense of your brand or company as a source of authority on the topic at hand.Research has shown that video marketing has become one of the most vital methods of marketing on the net and that it is starting to replace many other forms of marketing. Instead of using just any marketing tool, many marketers are now opting for using video as their preferred marketing tool. YouTube videos are often placed on content-aggregating sites and blogs related to the brand ; those pages use scripts to get the links to the newest videos on the YouTube and have them embedded automatically; getting included on some sites with high traffic can increase video views.YouTube referrals ââ¬â surprisingly many people are spending hours watching random videos on that site ðŸËâ° if you will set proper tags to your video, they will get more traffic, and again: more traffic means more people will get to know the product! R ecommendation Youtube As Youtubeââ¬â¢s influence is growing and the siteââ¬â¢s capabilities can enhance the product performance ,it has to take major part in the Nescafeââ¬â¢s Advertising campaign in the social medias. It would be beneficial to post more often videos with customerââ¬â¢s opinion and news regarding future events ââ¬âwith interviews of the organisators etc.Another good strategy is to promote the Youtube channels more on their Facebook page so that more people will engage in commenting and if there is a poll ,for example , the company will receive more feedback on their future projects. More fun and interactive games or videos can be uploaded in order to gather more attention and inspire engagement . Good ideas for Nescafe will be to make an video contest . Try offering a reward for the contest online and advertise it everywhere you can. People will follow you and will fill out their information if it means they might win a contest. 17NESCAFE AD CAMPAIGM S AROUND THE WORLD Nescafe has vast amount of supporters through the social media (Facebook, Twitter,Youtube).
